Dear Friend,

Sometime after my mother died, when I visited my father, I began to notice Scripture verses appearing all over the house—on an index card taped to the kitchen telephone, on a marker board in his study, even on a hand-lettered poster in his bedroom.

It became clear that all of the verses were about the cross. One said, “God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Galatians 6:14, NKJV). The Lord had put it in his heart that if he ever was physically able to share a message again, he would speak about the cross, and he was determined to saturate his mind with the Scripture.

Now God has given my father the opportunity—not in a stadium Crusade, but through a special television program called The Cross.

Here’s what I shared: “Giving and receiving starts with giving. If you’re not receiving enough, you’re probably not giving enough”.
Most people seem to have understood the point of this message. Some did not.

One message… two reactions

Those who understood the message realized it was about the power of contribution. That the best way to get value was to give value. That the best way to make a new friend, was to be a friend to someone.

The Best Ways to Educate Employees About the Future of Work and Collaboration

We recently released our report on the Future of Work. One of the things we explored was the best ways to educate employees on the value and benefit of collaboration platforms within organizations. Employee adoption is consistently ranked as one of the top challenges when it comes deploying collaborative technologies and strategies and education and training is the best way to help overcome that.

From the hundreds of responses that we received, workshops (61%), videos and content on demand such as webinars (56%), and lunch and learns (47%) seem to be popular and effective ways to educate and train employees.

My team and I have done many workshops for companies around the world and I can safely say that they do quite well. Not only do workshops provide an opportunity for employees to learn but they also provide a safe place for them to share their frustrations, hesitations, and general impressions about collaboration and future of work initiatives. It’s great for senior level leaders to hear directly from employees and vice versa.

The Key To Improving Every Area Of Your Business

How do you feel about your business and the work you do? That may seem like an odd question. However, the way you feel about what you do has a huge impact on the quality of your work and how others feel about you.

For example, think about those people you see from time to time, who are going through the motions with their work, but clearly not enjoying it. You can spot them instantly. That’s because it shows in their energy, their body language, their attitude and their output.

Consumer Sentiment Remaining Positive

Consumers are becoming more upbeat about the economy, as the Consumer Reports Index in April remained positive  for the second consecutive month.
The index points to an improving employment climate, higher consumer spending, and a reduction in overall household financial stress for the American consumer.
"While the economy still has a way to go before we can say a recovery has taken hold, consumers are in a better spot than they were last year and we’re seeing an improving trend," said Ed Farrell, a director of the Consumer Reports National Research Center.
